Main Planets
Our inner drivers and basic psychological functions that determine character and destiny.
Jupiter
🏺 The planet of Greater Fortune, prosperity, and social realization. Jupiter shows where luck is on your side, where you can scale your talents, and how you form your worldview.
Mars
⚔️ The planet of physical energy, the will to win, and the ability to stand up for oneself. Mars is our internal motor that shows how we overcome obstacles and achieve what we desire.
Mercury
⚡ The planet of the mind, speech, and information transfer. Mercury is our internal "processor," responsible for logic, learning, social contacts, and the ability to adapt to circumstances.
Moon
🌙 A reflection of our soul, subconscious, and basic needs. The Moon shows how we react to the world, how we rest, how we show care, and what we need to feel safe and secure.
Neptune
🌊 The planet of higher love, mysticism, and inspiration. Neptune is the ocean of the subconscious that blurs the boundaries of reality, granting us a connection with the divine through art, dreams, and intuition.
Pluto
🌋 The planet of great transformation, collective will, and inexhaustible resources. Pluto is the force that destroys everything that has outlived its purpose to create something fundamentally new and powerful upon the ashes.
Saturn
🪐 The planet of karma, structure, and time. Saturn shows where you must exercise maximum responsibility, overcome fears, and build a solid foundation through discipline and patience.
Sun
☀️ The center of our individuality, the source of consciousness, and creative energy. The Sun shows what your uniqueness consists of, how you light up the world with your presence, and where you find true joy in life.
Uranus
⚡ The planet of awakening, innovation, and sudden change. Uranus is the "celestial electricity" that shatters old forms to make room for brilliant ideas and the future.
Venus
The planet of feelings, aesthetic taste, and material prosperity. Venus shows what we love, how we express affection, what we spend money on, and what level of comfort we consider necessary for ourselves.
Asteroids and Hypothetical Planets
Small bodies of the Solar System responsible for subtle psychological nuances and hidden talents.
Ceres
🌾 The asteroid of motherhood and physical survival. Ceres shows how we care for ourselves and others, and how we navigate the 'cold' periods of life.
Chiron
🗝️ A bridge between the past and the future. Chiron indicates the point of our deepest vulnerability, which, when integrated, becomes our greatest healing gift
Juno
The asteroid Juno is responsible for the archetype of legal marriage, long-term commitments, and the psychological contract between partners. Unlike Venus, which describes infatuation and attraction, Juno shows what kind of partner we need for stable coexistence and which conditions of equality are critical for us.
Pallas
🦉 Asteroid of wisdom and strategy. Pallas is responsible for our talent for seeing patterns, logical thinking, and the ability to solve problems creatively.
Vesta
The asteroid Vesta symbolizes the inner fire, the capacity for extreme concentration, and devotion to one's calling. It is responsible for personal boundaries, spiritual purity, and the ability to sacrifice immediate desires for a higher goal.
Karmic Nodes and Points
Mathematical points of orbital intersection indicating karmic lessons and the soul's purpose.
Wheel of Fortune (Pars Fortunae)
A specific calculated point representing the synthesis of the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant. It indicates the area of life where a person finds the greatest natural support, material success, and psychological satisfaction.
Lilith (Black Moon)
A mathematical point of the lunar orbit's apogee, symbolizing a zone of psychological distortion, suppressed instincts, and karmic trials. It indicates the sphere where a person is most vulnerable to temptations and prone to extremes.
North Node (Rahu)
The intersection point of the lunar orbit with the ecliptic, indicating the vector of the soul's development. This is a zone of the 'unfamiliar' and the new, toward which a person must move to realize their highest potential in the current incarnation.
South Node (Ketu)
A point in the natal chart indicating the accumulated experience of past incarnations and innate abilities. It is a zone of psychological comfort that can become a trap if a person refuses to develop toward the North Node.
Vertex
Vertex is a calculated point (the 'third angle') representing the point of fate and fated interactions. It describes events and people who enter our lives beyond our will to initiate a deep inner transformation.
Chart Angles and Lots
Key points of the horoscope that form the framework of the personality and the background of events.
Ascendant
🎭 The rising point at the moment of your birth. The Ascendant is the "door" through which you enter the world, your calling card, and your social filter.
Descendant
🤝 The setting point. The Descendant shows the qualities we lack and the partners (both business and personal) we subconsciously attract into our lives.
IC (Nadir)
🌳 The deepest point of the horoscope. The IC represents our roots, family, genes, and the place where we shed all masks and truly become ourselves.
MC (Midheaven)
🏔️ The highest point of the chart. The MC symbolizes your “Everest” — career ambitions, social standing, and how you will go down in history.
What makes up your astrological portrait?
In natal astrology, there are several levels of information. To avoid confusion, "Astro Guido" suggests dividing them into four clear groups:
-
1. Planets: Our Inner Drivers These are actual celestial bodies that symbolize basic psychological functions. Personal planets (Sun, Moon, Venus) are responsible for the ego, emotions, and choices. Social planets (Jupiter, Saturn) govern ambitions and boundaries. Outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) represent deep transformations and insights.
-
2. Chart Angles (Axes): The Framework of Your Reality ASC (Ascendant) and DSC (Descendant), MC (Midheaven) and IC (Imum Coeli) are not planets, but mathematical points of intersection. They form the "cross" of our lives. The Ascendant is our mask and the way we begin new things; the Descendant is what we seek in partners; the IC represents our roots and sense of security; and the MC is the peak of our achievements and social realization. These are the contact points between your psyche and the external world.
-
3. Evolutionary Compass: Lunar Nodes, Part of Fortune, and Vertex We do not view "karma" as punishment. The South Node represents your innate talent, comfort zone, and baggage of experience. The North Node is your zone of growth, a path that may seem difficult but leads to maximum fulfillment. The Part of Fortune indicates the sphere where you can find genuine joy and a sense of flow, while the Vertex marks important turning points and significant encounters that become catalysts for change.
-
4. Shadows and Paradoxes: Lilith and Chiron This is where most fears often arise, which we at "Astro Guido" aim to dispel. Lilith (the Black Moon) is not a curse, but our psychological Shadow (according to Carl Jung). These are distortions, strong desires, and blind spots that, once recognized, grant us colossal strength. Chiron acts as a "bridge" between the mundane and the higher realms; it points to our vulnerabilities, which eventually become a source of unique wisdom and unconventional solutions.
How to read this together?
Do not try to embrace everything at once. The natal chart unfolds layer by layer. Start with the Sun and Moon, then look at your Ascendant, and afterwards, explore where the Lunar Nodes are calling you. Understanding each element gives you freedom: you stop being a hostage to your unconscious reactions and begin to build your life consciously, relying on your true settings.
